The simply electric pair invited their dearest loved ones, along with fifty descendants of the famous polydactyl cats (6, sometimes 7 toed) for a most magical spring afternoon at The charming Hemingway Home and Museum in the Key West,
Contagious energy built up as Ken and his groomsmen prepared at Lighthouse Court while Taylor and her ladies’ started pampering bright and early with the talented ladies of Casa Salon at Truman Annex. The stunning group gathered there while we whisked the groom away for a first look at his gleaming bride. Photography team - Mru and Elvira from Poem of US caught a few fun shots of the handsome lot and gorgeous group of girls, White paper parasols make for such a whimsical photography prop!
While this special memory with the essential family shots were being captured, Set up was underway at The Hemingway Home and Museum! For the couple’s 80 or so guests, We wanted a cozy and inviting ambiance for the reception on the lawn and so went with warm string lighting, draped under a clear tent (a whimsical weather back up), and an elegant twist of fun sparkle with a few disco balls. For table decor candlelight elevated the romance of rustic natural textures in the table settings and wood furniture, adorned with soft white table runners and tall golden center-pieces of soft pastel and white florals provided by Duarte Floral Design. Using sage napkins we could incorporate an earthy touch and pop of color.
As the afternoon began to cool, Arriving guests were directed to the wedding ceremony taking place at Hemingway’s front courtyard. Guests filled rustic chairs (later repurposed for reception seating) facing the garden platform where our beautiful pair were about to say their I-do’s. Preceded by the glowing bridal party, Guests watched in total awe as Taylor graced the aisle, escorted by her brother Thomas, toward her ecstatic groom. Family friend Vin officiated a touching ceremony before guests were then directed to the pool area to enjoy cocktail hour under another breathtaking Key West sunset.
Everyone was asked to their seats in the gorgeous garden reception, now gently flickering with candlelight, just in time for introductions of the bridal party and Mr and Mrs! A delectable dinner was served by Great Events Catering before glasses were filled for toasts! With formalities out of the way, the dance floor lit up as the Bay Kings Band entertained the group with a live performance transcending the garden. Concluding the night with joyous dancing and singing alongside the newly-weds.
